Lisa and John

Lisa and John were married in the gorgeous Myriad Gardens beside a brook with wonderful trees and flowers all around . They stayed in the landmark Skirvin Hotel.

Their reception featured sweet girls, tear-jerking toasts, pirates disguised as guests, grandparents who cut a rug, and a
flower petal shower.

The Skirvin, which originally opened in 1911, had fallen into disrepair until it underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and
reopened just last year.
It's a Hilton Hotel now in downtown Oklahoma City within walking distance of the Bricktown Canal and Entertainment District, the Bricktown Ballpark, the Ford Center Arena and the OKC National Bombing Memorial.

Creenna and Jesse

Creenna and Jesse's engagement photos were
taken in downtown Fort Smith.
This is the photo they chose for photo cards and the
photo for their guests to sign.
I like this trend as an alternative to a guest book. Instead of people just signing their name in a book, they are more likely to get creative and write blessings or congratulation messages.
Another neat idea I've seen is providing little cards for the guests to write more private messages of advice and well wishes. Then the cards can be slipped in a box for the couple to enjoy reading later.

Lauren and Taylor

Lauren and Taylor are engaged to be married. We had fun taking photos in downtown Fort Smith.

What a nice couple.

We started at the Fort Smith Trolley Museum and happened to see Mayor Ray Baker who always quips "Life's Worth Living in Fort Smith!!" before he showers an honoree with rose petals. (No kidding.) When our church celebrated it's 150th anniversary, he was there. When my husband's workplace was honored for being #1 in quality production, he was there. He's our much-loved mayor and we hope he's around for many years to come.

Here's a video of the River Blenders singing the Fort Smith theme song.

Sarah & Kyle

Sarah and Kyle "took the plunge" in Tahlequah , the home of Northeastern State University.
After the golf ball-sized hail it turned into a beautiful day.

Tahlequah is also the capital of both The Cherokee Nation and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians.
Downtown a neat statue was recently unveiled of Billy and his dogs from the book Where the Red Fern Grows.

Patty

I so wanted to do another pretty girl in front of my weigela bush so I found this pretty girl living right in my own house.
Patty girl is such a good dog. She tolerates almost anything
for a belly rub.

My cute Doxie.

Is that the cat!!??

Some day I want to take her to the wiener dog races in Buda, Texas.

Shawna

Shawna and Matt were married in Catoosa at the Vesica Piscis Chapel. It's a beautiful place and they offer everything you can think of for a wedding . The splendid, stone chapel sits on a ridge with trees all around. The marker on Google Maps isn't correct, but here is where it really sits. Contact Judy Lytle for more information and to check for availability.

This is Rylan, getting ready for the wedding.

No man likes a tie.

You don't think of Oklahoma having shipping ports, but the Port of Catoosa is the furthest inland seaport in the United States. It links Tulsa to the Arkansas River, by way of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System and on down to the Gulf of Mexico.

Jerrod and Ashley

Jerrod and Ashley were married in a sweet, outdoor ceremony, in Greenwood, on a beautiful day.
The girls wore simple sundresses and carried hydrangea and calla lily bouquets.

Greenwood's surrounding area has a rich coal mining history. The Miner's Memorial Park is located on East Center Street and features a statue of a coal miner, a coal car loaded with real coal, and a very nice memorial wall. Jerrod's great-grandfather's name is there along with more than 3,700 other Sebastian County coal miners.
